Miley House
Built in 1901, the Lucius and Anna Miley House displays a unique expression of the eclectic architecture of the transitional period occurring between the ornate Victorian era pre1900, and the more modest styles proliferating into the 1920s. Though eclectic in its mixture of design features, the house primarily displays a mix of elements borrowed from the Queen Anne and Shingle styles. This was the first residence built along Illinois Avenue in the Avondale Addition, and today retains not only its most character defining features but also integrity of design, location, setting, and workmanship.
